Tournament information
Who may participate?
Participating teams must belong to a club or academy that is registered with its national FIFA affiliated association. School teams from countries where they can participate in official football competitions of the national football association and are registered with the national school association are also allowed to participate. All players must be registered with the club they are playing for.
Accommodation
All accommodated participants must stay at one of our three partner hotels: City Express Plus by Marriott, Grand Oasis or Iberostar Selection. The hotels either offers breakfast only or all inclusive (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Up to four persons can stay in each room.

Number of matches
The tournament begins with a group play. Teams are divided into groups of four or five teams, where all teams are playing each other once. The first and second team of the group qualify for play-off A, other teams in the group qualify for play-off B. The tournament is played under all applicable FIFA rules.
Airport transfer
Return transfer between the Cancún airport and the hotels is included for anyone that books their accommodation with us. Transfer must be booked in advance at Gothia Account.
Transfer to the fields
Transfer to and from the pitches are included in the participation fee and the supporter card. The supporter card can be purchased for 75 USD at your Gothia Account or on site at the hotel.
Which is the last date to register?
Deadline for making a registration is the 15th of October. Please note that teams who have registered and paid their registration fee first will be given priority when we reach the maximum number of teams.
Age control
All participants at Gothia Cup Cancún must complete the age control to participate in the tournament. This is to make sure that all participants are eligible to participate in the age category they are enrolled in.
Gothia Account
All registered teams have their own team page at Gothia Account. Several leaders can connect their Gothia ID to the same team page at Gothia Account. On your team page you will update your registration, place orders, fill out the list of participants, make payments and see your balance. Please note that each team is responsible for deadlines of when information, orders and similar are to be submitted.
Supporter card
Transfer to and from the fields and entrance to the opening ceremony can be added to a cost of $75 USD. This is referred to as the supporter card, and can be purchased at your Gothia Account or on site at the hotel.
The supporter card is included for all players and leaders who have paid the participation fee.
Accompanying families and friends can purchase the supporter card on their Gothia Account or at our hotels.
Special food
For persons with special food needs or allergies we are able to arrange this.
Prizes
For teams reaching the finals, each player will receive a medal, and the teams the specially designed Gothia Cup trophy. The two losing teams in the A play-off semifinal will receive a third-place trophy and bronze medals after the semi-final in their age category. For teams reaching the finals in the B play-off there will be medals and a trophy.
The winner in each age category wins their participation with school accommodation (category A) for 20 persons (players and leaders only) at Gothia Cup 2025 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Travel to Gothenburg is not included.

Important dates
October 15th: Registration closes
November 1st: Last date to pay the final accommodation cost, participation fee and any other additional costs.
Payments
The registration fee must be paid within 10 days of submitting the registration online. Once we receive the payment of your registration fee, we will confirm your registration.
A deposit of $2500 must be paid at the latest 30 days after submitting the registration.
The final accommodation cost and/or participation fee must be paid no later than November 1st 2024. If the accommodation cost and participation fee has not been paid for within five days after its due date the Gothia Cup Cancún has the right to cancel your registration without any right to a refund.
Note that all bank transaction fees must be paid for by the team or accompanying families. Please observe that we do not accept any personal or company cheques.
Cancellation
If you need to cancel your registration, email info@gothiacupcancun.com and note your registration number. The registration fee and deposit is non refundable.
The participation cost is only refundable if the cancellation is made at the lastest November 1st. After November 1st a doctor's notice is required to get the participation fee refunded.
Cancellation after September 1st 2024 is charged with 50% of the room cost.
Cancellation after October 1st 2024 is charged with 100% of the room cost.
Accommodation booked through Gothia Cup
We reserve us the right during the tournament, if hotel rules are not followed, to move a team from the hotel, and the right to dismiss a participant from Gothia Cup Cancún accommodation if the participant commits criminal offense or at repeated occasions violates our rules. For teams with booked accommodation through Gothia Cup the team manager as indicated on the participants list is responsible for the team's behavior.
Insurance
The team manager in charge is obligated to ensure that all participants are insured on the pitch. Each participant is responsible for his/her personal insurance off the pitch. Participants from countries that have no medical insurance agreement with Mexico must have personal medical insurance. Neither Gothia Cup Cancún nor the organizer has collective insurance to cover injuries, illness, theft or damages.
Cancelation of the tournament and force majeure
Neither Gothia Cup Cancún nor the organizer is responsible for compensation and they are also not responsible for financial losses or damages that may occur due to events outside the control of Gothia Cup Cancún or the organizer, such as war-like events, pandemic, fire, flood, interruptions in public transport connections, government actions, strike or other similar circumstances.
Gothia Cup Cancún has the right to cancel the tournament if there is not enough teams registered to complete the tournament.
